What is the significance of the close-up shot of the soda can?

I saw this yesterday and again today. I can't seem to understand what's the significance of the close-up shot of the spilled soda can, after Shane drags Jonathan from the bubbler. Or is this for a purely artistic shot or is there a deeper and more profound meaning behind it?

exactly product placement. Coke has to get their time on screen to make their investment worth while :-)
