This Movie is Perfect

and a must watch.

I wouldn't call it perfect. I had a serious problem with them making a deadbeat dad out of Prancer. I thought that was uncalled for. It was entertaining, but I really wouldn't call it perfect. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Finally a kid movie that takes on the reality of many children by featuring a deadbeat dad.

I have to agree. It's not perfect. There's nothing perfect about making a reindeer Prancer a "deadbeat dad" and Niko's mom a "Baby mama." There's no reindeer version of Jerry Springer. Why did they have to put that type of subject in the story? It's ridiculous. They're all reindeers. They made the reindeer "baby mama" so ratchet. SMH...and SHE didn't know where the daddy is? Come on, they live in ONE forest, he works ONE day out of the year--Christmas Eve. I'm surprised they haven't made a sequel of this and have like a Chris Brown parody song called "These Does Ain't Loyal."

My biggest issues with this movie:

-They never air the entire thing on TV. They cut it down to an hour, and do so horribly, because the most interesting aspect (the "Essie & the wolves" plot line) just gets dropped off a bloody cliff.
-Since when is the whole reindeer team male?! At the very least, Vixen's a girl.
-Yeah, you can tell it's one of those cheaply-produced foreign cartoons, because this "Santa's reindeer need Maury" story simply wouldn't be made in the US for kids.

It's the first Finnish animation that I've seen. It's very watchable in nice muted colors. It captures a magical landscape a bit like vintage Disney.
