The animation looked pretty good to me, better than a typical cheap direct to DVD type release...
shareAs everyone else has been saying, the animation does look quite poor--like a video game, or one of the cheap, terrible "kid's movies" that rip off popular ones and which you can stream on Netflix. What makes me eager to see it is the exceptional voice cast. I suppose they figured that they could either spend most of the budget on awesome actors or excellent animators, and opted for the former! Also...the Peeps.
Dorothy kinda looks as if they tried to make her look like Anna from Frozen, though.
Oz: The Great and Powerful was a good film; I don't know whether or not to expect to be able to say the same of this. But I'll give it a go.

shareI think it looks good, probably better than people are making it out to be. I've heard from Oz fans that have enjoyed it, and it's really made for them and kids, so we'll see. People just always have to be so negative and snarky about everything these days.
I honestly think it looks like a cute movie for the younger crowd.
shareLet me preface my remarks by saying The Wizard of Oz is my all time favorite movie. I have seen it dozens of times in my 67 years.
I loved this movie. Great animation, on par with anything Pixar has done. The story is pedestrian, but then it is suppose to be that way since it is a kids movie. Lots of nice humor, my favorite being the Great Wall of China joke. It is beautiful and fun. The only thing that didn't work for me was the music. Songs were not very strong, but they are a small part of the movie so they don't really matter. Very fun movie. Don't listen to the haters on this board.
