Looks Like it Was Intended for Direct to DVD

Maybe its just me, but this film looks like it was made for the "direct to DVD" market and somehow made it into theaters. Bolstering that idea is the fact that its opening day is today and its only got like three showtimes in my theater.

Thoughts?

Personally, I'm not gonna spend $40 to take my kids to a film that looks like it'll be in the $5 bin at my local Wal*Mart in 3 months. I could be wrong, but everything in the trailer screamed "low budget" to me.

Hell, there are direct to DVD anitmated films whose animatation looks much, much, better then this POS.

Took my kids to see it today... we all loved it! All the kids sitting around us seemed to enjoy it too. They all applauded at the end. The music is wonderful!! The kids have been humming the songs all day & have been reciting many of the funny lines, particularly from the Jester. Martin Short's performance was stellar!! The 3D was done well too, wasn't dizzying, and though the animation was a little off for short periods in the Kansas setting, the details in Oz were awesome!! The movie left us all in feel-good mode ?

Alright, Jacqui. Who paid you to say that?

I actually saw the movie, instead of making negative comments in advance.

You've posted on almost every thread and it's always the same copy-paste review, too. You made an account last month and you've only ever commented on this board - You're a studio plant, give it up.

So people can't make observations about movies now? Sheesh, you people on IMDB boards are so uptight. Get over yourselves.

The film was better off on DVD and blu ray.

it was meant to have a straight-to-video release in the first place. but i guess some jackass out there thought it looked "great" and decided to put it out in theaters.
