The good and the bad

Good:

Great music and singing, that stood on its own (would probably work as a standalone sound track); for once (maybe twice?) I enjoyed singing in a movie

Great voice acting for the most part

Some well-acted good characters

Bad:

Sometimes too simplistic and outright bad character designs; Toto looked like a kitten at first; Dorothy should have been designed much better; The Joker and the flying monkeys looked outright terrible

The Joker was totally evil, without any nuances

Further butchering of the Baum stories; will they ever make a movie that follows the books? Return to Oz was probably the closest regarding that, but lacked in other ways, not the least terrible stop motion


I'm wondering though why so many great actors participated. Most have done voice acting before, but why this project?
