IMDB Low User Ratings Seem Wrong - And Hurful

From what I have seen of the series and read on the web (including here) my gut says this series should rate a Seven at least.

So take a look at this and see if it seems fair.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0884294/ratings

That is suggesting that nearly half of all viewers who voted only gave it a One!!

Nice that the same number gave it a 10 but today the average of all viewers is only 2.3.

That might impact any future possibility of an online repeat or some DVDs.

I have tried voting (a 10) and asked others to vote for it on other computers, and none of our votes have shown up.

At first glance, it looks like a hostile force is stacking the deck here, although for the life of me I cannot think why.

Thanks, Jason, a kind remark which seems in the mainstream of this forum, and "eccentric campy fun" seems an excellent way to define the show.

It is common knowledge that the whole series was aired in Bulgaria (some of the YouTubes are dubbed into Bulgarian) but I was surprised to get a message from Benelux saying they saw it all there too (I guess in English) and found it a lot of fun and the casting really first-class.

The odd voting pattern I drew attention to (all those "ones") is way out of the ordinary for IMDB and may be the work of a troll. If anyone actually gets a new vote to register, could they please mention it here?

Can you provide a source for the showing in Benelux? (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, for those unfamiliar with the term.) It might be helpful to put together a list of where we know it has shown and if possible how it did there for information when contacting the producers about getting a DVD. I think I heard that it was #1 when it was on in Bulgaria.

Hi samnanna

Great idea. The poster (Hunter 16) is here on IMDB and she posted the info on the Angela Gots board. She also sent me a message and an email. I have just asked her to come by here and tell us what she knows.

It sure was number one in Bulgaria. I have worked there and have contacts and they tell me the show really fascinated the hell out of them.

Those actors worked their hearts out in that series and deserved better than they got. I have watched the great Theresa Russell starting from way back, and I had recently encountered the wonderful Angela Gots in an amazing TV episode (in A&E's The Beast, now defunct), and the girl in the jungle in A-H (was she the heiress?) was also dry, tough, smart, pretty, and very funny.

The master copy of the series might be at Channel 9 in Secaucus, which is less than 2 miles from where I live on the Hudson. Could a personal visit achieve anything? I'm prepared to storm the barricades for this one!
