What was Michelle's father saying to Abby right after he told her about burying her brother, but before he and his wife went back into the shed and found Miranda dead?
I didn't hear what he mumbled. Was it important to the movie? Also, did Miranda really die from Leukemia? Rachel said she saw blood.

I believe that he was saying that since Miranda had Leukemia and had to go through painful treatments, when Miranda misbehaved he and his wife didn't feel like she should be punished since they felt she had been through enough already. Eventually Miranda's behavior got worse and worse to the point where Miranda kidnapped the little boy.
Miranda's father saw her running to the shed right after he saw a news report on the missing boy and he got suspicious and went to see what she was up to and saw the boy tied up in the shed. He tried to untie the boy and got angry and pushed Miranda down. I believe she hit her head either on a table or on the concrete floor and started bleeding. He said it wasn't too hard to cover up her death since most people assumed she would have died soon of Leukemia.
He then took the boy's body and buried it to cover up what Miranda did and I am assuming to cover up killing Miranda as well.
I am a little fuzzy on the details, but I hope that helps...

shareNo there were two separate incidents. He was definitely mumbling and I had to back it up 3 times to figure out what was happening. The first one was the dead boy. The dad didn't hurt Miranda at that time because she'd had so many medical treatments. The second time he walked into the garage, "Debbie, his angel" (that's what he said) was tied up. She was the older sister wearing the angel costume for Halloween that was afraid of Michelle. That's when he pushed Miranda away and she hit her head and died.
