What next?

Ok... So we've covered WWII, torn through Vietnam, taken down modern warfare and have even battled it out through a second Ice Age.

My real question now is... What's next? does the earth fall apart in extreme condition forcing us to extend the fight into space? What will EA do for us next?

Unless they're planning on making a FPS out of the Civil War, I'm wondering where the creators will take the next fight, or the next... There's only so much they can do i guess... What do u all think?

i actually wouldnt mind battling it out in a huge futuristic moon base, so a new transport ship like the titans but on a much larger scale, where its big enough that airships may be needed to travel faster within it.

or humanity is restarting on a new planet, where instead of futuristic and desolate, its futurestic and lush

If any of you have played the Star Wars 'version' of Battlefield, called Battlefront (in this case the second one, Battlefront 2), there is a planetside based combat, like in the previous game. But there's also a space battle mode where you enter into fighters or bombers and attack the opposing space ship, depending on the era you play in this can be anything from X-Wings and TIEs to Clone Wars fighters and bombers, up against Star Destroyers, Calamari Cruisers and Clone Wars capital ships.

What I'd like to see in Battlefield (Or in Star Wars Battlefront for that matter) is a mode where you either fight in space or on the ground, depending on either choice or by necessity. But the two fights aren't separated, not fully at least. More precisely, the battle on either plane would affect the battle of the other in some manner, for instance, the space battle could be about an 'abandoned' space station or whatever, that can call down orbital strikes or sweep for enemy signatures or maybe something new entirely.

The ground portion of the battle could affect the space battle by capturing secondary objectives/flags that are in fact planetary anti-orbital cannons. These could fire and damage the enemy's capital ships. The fighters and/or bombers (if enough people are on the server) could divert their attention to make strafing/bombing runs against planetary based enemies in an attempt to turn the tide of the ground war. Some sort of prerequisite has to be met for this to be available though.

In short, I'd like the next game of either EA or Lucasarts to have this game mode/features so it would be like in the classic Star Wars movies, where multiple battles rage and affect one another simultaneously.

'How would you solve the trip from orbit to ground level and vice versa?' you might ask. Well, there would have to be a small loading time, but the server itself would have that already buffered up for the player for easy play. Mind you that the option to go down to ground level wouldn't always open to you, like I said before, some things would have to be done or whatever in order for this extra support option to be available.

An example would be that in orbit the battle would be in favor of your side, on ground level the battle is different, or a special objective/flag would have to be captured in order to call in the bombing run or strafing run. The player that responds cannot stay in the ground battle for any long periods of time, he may only have a short time span to carry out support tasks, then he/she/they have to return to orbit for the fight that still rages on there.

Which fight would be more important? That can actually be different from planet to planet, if you have an objective based skirmish. The objective could be some structure on the ground, the/an orbital station or a combination of both. If one side captures one or both, depending, and holds it for a time or until the enemy's tickets runs out they've won.

If a ground battle, or a space one, is won/lost the other battle, if not finished, still rages on with the other plane disabled and the players from that plane spectates the other fight (joining it would be too much I think). This would be in order to maximize scoring potential even for a losing side. Should one side win the ground while the other win in space, neither side will have scored a total victory, only partial.

So, this is my idea, what do you guys think?
