I couldn't help but notice how the camera seemed to zoom in on the brand names on the climbers jackets, hats and climbing equipment. I have to wonder if these guys really paid for their expedition or did the clothing and equipment companies pay for it? Maybe they paid for half and the production company paid for the rest.

I too thought that there may have been some product placement. The camera focused on logos for inordinate amounts of time and in instances were it was not necessary. However, I never thought that the companies had paid for the expeditioners’ expenses. But maybe they did.
