I thought the first one was excellent. I'm looking forward to this one. Charles Binamé did a fantastic job directing, and he's doing this one as well. Paul Gross is riveting as an actor, and I generally like his writing. He's pretty knowledgeable about politics, as well, so I'm expecting good things. :)

Afaik this has nothing to do with any Halloween movies.

Basically in a nutshell it's about a computervirus to manipulate the president elections. Once a certain President is in office he will try and take Saudi Arabia for their oil. Canada has merged with the USA.

Sounds frightingly real if you think that Bush wants Canada and Mexico to join the US in a union with one currency (the Amero, instead of dollar)

Synopsis:

Journaliste Helen Madigan is investigating the murder on a computer specialist who wrote a program that allows elections to be manipulated.
Pretty soon she is being chased by rutheless killers who seem to work for an alliance of secret services.
Strangely enough this computer virus seems to contain the name of Tom McLaughlin, the last premier of Canada before this country was taken in by the USA.
The President of the USA has plans to invade Saudi Arabia because of it's oil and McLaughlin who is a fighter for peace decides to also run for President to stop this.
Because Helen is afraid the CIA will try and manipulate the upcoming presidential elections, she decides to warn McLaughlin.
But soon enough she realises that it's not the american government, but McLaughlin himself who is behind the computer virus. His intentions being to overtake the US government with the help of some European secret services.

It's another one of those stupid CBC movies.

reply

If this anti-Canadian crap isn't justification for dissolving the CBC then I don't know what is.
