Basically a Dynsaty Warriors movie? Dream cast!

If so I can't wait! I love the games and think the story is rich and immersive not to mention the characters.
Most of all I owuld love to see some screen time dedicated to the story of Lu Bu, Diao Chan and Dong Zhuo.
I think Zhang Ziyi would make a luminous Diao Chan - or (you might laugh) I think Catherine Zeta Jones although not Asian has her qualities. I just thought on the Mask of Zorro when she first confronts Zorro and he hushes her horse, she looked amazing and I tohught she looked similar to Diao Chan.
I think someone like Ken Wantanabe would be great as Lu Bu.
I have yet to decide on Dong Zhuo.
Would anyone else like to suggest who would play their favourite characters and who what thye would like to see from the movie.
Thanks.

Actually, this is more accurately based on the historical novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Dynasty warriors is *loosely* based on the novel, which is heavily, though not 100% accurately, based on the actual chronicles of the Three kingdoms.
The novel is a fantastic read, but differs heavily from the Dynasty Warriors games. (Which, I must say, are my favorite games)
However, the chronicle of Lu Bu and Diao Chan isn't covered very thoroughly in the novel, same with Lu Bu's relation ship with his adopted father, Dong Zhuo. There's enough there to expand upon, but when looked at broadly, Lu Bu and Diao Chan play a pretty insignificant role overall. This can probably be attributed to the fact that, historically, Diao Chan didn't exist. She was made up by Luo Guan-Zhong to create drama between Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo.
Still, I look forward to a good adaptation of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It's my favorite book, and I do hope that the movie turns out to be a good one.
I figure as long as it doesn't end up like Troy or Alexander, we should be fine...

as described in the romance of the 3 kingdoms. therefore, there won't be any dong zuo, lu bu or diao chan stuff, but a lot of carnage on the battle field (like chang ban, chi bi, mt. ding jun etc.), and maybe a made up romance stuck somewhere in between.

i look forward to it, i think it will be one of the most expensive films made in China (if it is being made there lol)

I am half-way through volume 2 and the books are impossible to turn into one movie. I anticipate that the focus only on Liu Pei (Liu Bei) or more likely, Chuge Liang (Zhuge Liang). It makes the movie a lot easier to fit into the maximum of 2.5 hours. I mean, I'd sit through an 8 hour movie on the subject, but I doubt anyone else would. The movie could also focus on T'sao T'sao (Cao Cao) but his story is a lot less interesting then Dynasty Wariors leads you to believe. He dies before Chang Fei (Zhang Fei)! Also I'm hoping they do justice to Huang Chung (Huang Zhong), in the novel he is so totally amazing. I would lastly hope they keep Lu Bu out of the movie as he is in no way important or even interesting.

Yeah if anything I would like him to be mentioned, if he doesn't actually appear.

but..a scene with the Swore Brothers..vs Lu Bu.. that would be awesome..

I believe it is stated that a woman who was under the same role as Diao Chan did convince Lubu to turn. Although, since there isn't much information on who exactly she was or is they created Diao Chan in her place.

The word romance in the title of this book doesn't mean a romance between a couple. A different definition of the word means "a novel or other prose narrative depicting heroic or marvelous deeds, pageantry, romantic exploits, etc., usually in a historical or imaginary setting."
