Wu Zhang Plains battle where Zhuge Liang supposidly dies ? (spoiler ???)

Sorry if this a spoiler but i'm not sure!!!
i am currently reading the three kingdoms novel and am a big fan of the dynasty warriors games and the the title of this movie to me sounds like its to do with the shu stratagist Zhuge Liang also known as the Dragon (i think).

If it is i wonder if they will do the the Wu Zhang Plains battle because Zhuge Liang forms the strategy and supposidly ends up dying from an illness in battle making the Wei force retreat when the Wei stratagist Sima Yi sees Zhuge Liang. it will be interesting when imdb updates the plot because i want a better understanding of it because i love the novel and the games and can't wait to see this.

One other thing i wonder if this will be out after the Battle of Red Cliff which comes out in same year. Can't wait until it comes out i look foreward to seeing it. If anyone else can help to know how the battle went fully (as i haven't read the novel fully yet) i'd appreciate it thank you.

"Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered, those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win." Zhuge Liang

I loved Dynasty Warriors too. Especially Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires. I Think They won't do the Wu Zhang Plains Battle because Sammo Hung listed in the cast as Zhang Fei, and Zhang Fei dies far before the Battle of Wuzhang Plains.

It's possible that there's going to be more than one movie. I mean, for one movie to represent the Three Kingdoms Era...that's a bit of a stretch. In this case, Resurrection of the Dragon could be referring to Liu Bei's search of Zhuge Liang, the Sleeping Dragon.

ya I dont think they will show the battle... they may describe it? But anyway, even Zhao Yun is dead by this point

reply

No, it's about Zhao Yun, also styled Zhao Zilong, because the "long" in Zilong means "dragon".

As for "resurrection"-- sounds like it will be heavily "fictionalized"....

it would be awesome if they did the whole book in like 5 movies or so..make them back to back..and release them like Lord Of The Rings.. it would be cool...what do yous think? and a Casting Call?

reply

Zhuge Liang ..named Sleeping Dragon ... and with them naming Zheng Fei..like the other person pointed out.. died way before Zhuge did..it wouldn't be based off that battle.. hope that helps... and with the Battle Of Red Cliffs.. awesome i always liked that part in the games.. and a great Read.. i can't wait till the movies.. who knows maybe the movie will be all about Liu Bei and his Campaign..i'd love to see the Peach Garden Scene.. in a movie.. i always been a Shu fan..from the Books..to the games.. i guess we can only wait

I read somewhere it is bout the 84 year old Zhao Yun reflecting back over his many years with Shu etc so possibly includes various flashbacks of all the things he was involved in and also that it revolves around a fictional relationship with Cao Cao's fictional daughter. Based on a novel of the same name (not RTK).

reply

hmm..really? would be cool.. Zhao Yun is my favorite char..can't wait for this one :)

Zhao Yun telling the story as an old man could be a good way to have a narrative. That would make sense considering he is one of the few Shu General's who died of old age. I want to know who is going to play Guan Yu though, he is far and away the most amazing part of the books to me.

I think i might be the battle of ChanG Ban, Where Zhang fei holds off Cao Cao's entire army, and Zhao Yun fights his way throught the legions alone with Lui Chan hidden in his breast plate.

Or perhaps the Tzaking of the 3 cities, which would explain the presence of Zhou yu of WU.

but we'll all see.

Plus the dragon is the symbol of shu(and he Han)where Wei has a phoenix/crane ands WU has the Tiger as a symbol.

If we're real lucky they might do a movie about Hu lao gate and such. Who doesn't want to se Lu BU in action?????

Zhao Yun rescuing Liu Chan. The incident is also known to many fans as "the Beginning of the Downfall of Shu." Really. Many ROTK fans hate Zhao Yun, not only because so many people seem to feel sexually attracted to his character in the Dynasty Warriors series, but because he saved a weak, retard who did nothing but ruin Shu.

imo, this better be a 10 hr long movie.

reply

Well it is based on the fictional novel so i expect it to concentrate on (the made up character) Cao Cao's daughter Cao Ying and the famous stuff will probly just be the settings. Should be good since they wont be tied down with having to portray everything accurately - but then again who knows.

reply

ROTK wasnt really that fictional, sure it was heavily romantisized but alot of the stuff did happen( the battles pf course)
