The kid would have done everyday of that sentence for drugs. John Williams wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. El Topo would be doing business as usual. The Federal Prosecutor would be looking for the next teenager to put away so she can keep her job. That is the American drug war in a microcosm. Berry Pepper rocks though!

So the fact this is based off a documentary of the same name based on real events must be a lie?

The Frontline segment called Snitch is a long way from this movie. Even the writer's only call the documentary an inspiration for the movie. There was no attempt to make this movie nonfiction.
