'Go!' -'But where?' - 'Just run!'

In this film, right after the killing, a security officer says to MDC to go and run away. He had the perfect chance to escape...how weird!

Why would the officer be saying this?

people say and do strange things under traumatic stress

good question.

Just saw the movie. Great by the way.

I was wondering this too. Maybe the security guard sympathized for him because of the brief talks they had.

I just saw the movie ondemand myself, and at first I thought the guard didn't know that Mark was the one who pulled the trigger, and thought he was just a passerby. But then I thought maybe the guard didn't want him to be near the body because he might decide (the guard) to kick the *beep* out of Mark himself for what he did.

I couldn't understand this part of the movie/the events. Did the doorman really encourage Chapman to run off? How could you do that to a murderer? Someone you just saw kill an innocent person? While watching I couldn't understand why there was no attempt to detain Chapman made by the doorman at all.

From what the doorman was said to have told MDC, was "Do you know what you have just done? .... in which he replied " I just killed John Lennon" but in this situation, if this was being told form MDC perspective the frantic nature of the act could have lead to denile in his mind and he thought that was said to him.

I think many of the situations and reactions were figments of Chapman's imagination... same goes for the actual exorcism sequence when imprisoned...

the guard was in shock by what he had witnessed. I believe Chapman stuck around anyways to purposely be arrested by police. If he had of ran and hid, he wouldn't right away be the famous person he wanted to be...He ended up being infamous, but got the attention he wanted...
