edit update: hoo-whee. pretty bad.

Ken Jeong's performance is reserved compared to the other actors. if you've seen any of Jeong's other turns you'll appreciate the irony of this. this should give you an idea for how unhinged Bullock, Haden-Church and even Cooper play it.

Bullock's character is kind of tragic. she is living at home with parents, though there is the odd reason of a fumigation of her own place given. she is overly smart, poor at interpreting normal social cues, yet makes friends easily, and under-sexed. sort of a Rainman type autistic personality with a nymphomaniac streak.

how the red boots, alluding to Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, fit in has me stumped.

the umbrella she carries around? no idea.

in summary - not enough Keith David.
