most stupid thriller ever *spoilers*

... and I don't use the words "most ... movie ever" lightly.

But this - Oh come on, this cannot be true! I've never seen more stupidity in a movie, really! Even Dumb & Dumber had far more intelligent protagonists.

The kidnapper was taking far too many risks (like letting the lead character buy what he needed in the end, why not do that BEFORE you go snatching girls???) and all the characters had many opportunities to knock him down. And when they did so for the n-th time, I didn't ever bother anymore thinking "Now make sure he IS REALLY DEAD!!!"

So in the end, what's the message? Stupidity will either make you earn 40k bucks and a new facial scar if you're a male villain or will get you shipped into slavery if you're a female victim!

Great, I really learned something for life today!

This is definitely on my WORST MOVIES EVER list. So ridiculous. Lacked common sense. Let me break a window and yell for help when I'm in a deserted area with nobody around. Or the guy who gets repeatedly bludgeoned with tire iron to the head and miraculously gets up to fight a few minutes later. This movie was terrible!

reply

They were yelling out the window as a decoy to get the driver to stop the van and come to the back of the van (because they were locked in their seats) so they could attack him. Duh.

reply

It was predictable but in a sense, it is a movie... You just know more will happen because it's only 20 minutes through.

Though, pretty sure if anyone was in that situation, they would surely be dead.

What do you mean?

Surely if the female has a scar - they are safe???????

"letting the lead character buy what he needed in the end, why not do that BEFORE you go snatching girls???"

he did buy it before. It got burned by the signal the girls threw in the back of the shuttle remember him showing the burnt bread? Were you too busy bashing the movie and looking for weak points that you questioned everything? Pity you couldnt enjoy the movie.

And it speaks volumes about you if you went into the theatre thinking you were going to get 'life lessons' in there!

reply

I agree. I expect at *most* some entertainment or suspense from a film, if horror/thriller genre, not lessons about life or morals, etc.
It wasn't that bad a film anyway, despite the plot holes it kept me quite gripped.

"And it speaks volumes about you if you went into the theatre thinking you were going to get 'life lessons' in there!"

Of course I didn't! I was just being polemic, like you in your reply (hopefully) ...

Or was it really so hard to get? If so, here in modern English: This movie lacking every tiny bit of common sense made me feel so frustrated I had to write a troll post about it!

And about the facial scar, I was talking about the driver and what being shot to the face did to him. He was able to get up and fight back minutes later, so all he got (speaking damage) was a scar, if any at all. Completely realistic! (insert irony tags if you need them)

The Characters behaved so stupid it made me wish they die, but slavery is a good alternative.
Really sad, because i think it's technically a good movie and i like the main idea.
