my review of shuttle!!! SPOILER ALERT)

In the beginning of the movie it starts off with photos of the girls vacation which I thought was a great start. The motion sickness that we see is also shown at the end when Mel is in the crate. In the airport scene we notice the old-creepy guy which when I watched the first time I totally forgot about him. As we now know he also works for the driver and is the one that drives the shuttle off of the road. He also appears near the end when he examines the girls like if he was checking for damages on them. We learned that Mel learns sign language and is basically worthless because she tries to use it in the supermarket at the security camera but we find out that the tapes were not recorded. The guys that we meet are kind of just for entertainment because they are not really important and die eventually. We can see that Matt is definitely a threat because of his build and that the driver did not want any of the guys on his shuttle. When the driver uses his walkie-talkie to radio-in his situation, I believe that he was communicating with the old-creepy guy. Once the driver took the long way and Jules asked the driver is he knew where he was going the driver says something about “delivering precious cargo for five years”. That sentence basically says the answer to what they were going to do with the girls which is human trafficking. I have to admit I did not know this until at the very end. The film starts off with the bloody stuff when Matt gets his fingers chopped off. Then the slashing of Seth’s face, bashing of Andy’s head, slicing of the driver’s arm, stabbing of the driver’s leg, and shooting point blank rage at the driver with a gun. DAMN…..the driver sure has a billion lives. Anyways aside from the bad guys having a lot of lives this film has mediocre acting. I thought the driver and Andy were brilliant while the rest were decent. Finding out Andy is a bad guy was pretty easy to predict because the film would have ended way too early and I was hoping for another twist like Andy would kill the driver to take the girls for himself. The scene at the supermarket was pretty unfortunate when Mel tried sign language at a camera but we later understand that the tapes were not recording. Though the cashier did call the police but I predict that the cops really can’t do much because they do not have enough clues. Also during that scene we understand that the driver wants to get rid of any IDs affiliated with the passengers. At the end, we see Mel’s red luggage and I guess that shows that she is not completely gone and that police can find out what happen to her.

Throughout this whole film we figure out that the two girls are completely unharmed and that the driver would not damage any of his goods. I did not see this until at the end when Mel points out that they are not even harmed which makes the answer to what the driver was doing easier. I did like the constant battle between the driver taking the wheel of the shuttle and Mel taking the wheel of the shuttle. Once we understand that Andy is working for the driver he takes out two black packages which we do not know what is inside until the end when the transporter unwraps it and is filled with cash. There have been many questions as to why Mel did not just shoot the driver when she had the gun in her hands. All I can say is give it a break because I believe that Mel’s character is that she has never killed anyone nor even held a gun in her hand. Even though the driver did some mean stuff to them he has not really harmed her and that she isn’t a killer. But……later in the film when she takes the crowbar and viciously attacks Andy and basically killing him cause we see blood splatter on her face. That is the time where she has the killer instinct because she did lose the guy that helped protect her and also she now was not afraid of shooting the driver near the end. Now the end was probably the best part of the movie. Once we see that Mel is in the crate, we got to see what was in the crate. It was the nine items that she bought at the supermarket and one of the items was a photograph of nude girls that were probably forced into labor. That photograph basically told us what would happen to Mel and why the driver did what he did. We learn that the cargo is being shipped to Asia and we see many cargos that might contain other women like Mel. On the plus side, the driver did leave Mel with her motion sickness medication.

That's not really a review. It's a re-cap and explanation for those of us who've already seen the film.....
