It wasn't just her it was everything. The story, the dialogue, even the other actors except for Harvey Keitel.

I found the movie to be entertaining with a few holes in the plot but basically after I turned on my license to grant a bit of leeway due to a story with a bit of ethic legend mixed in, I flowed with it. During the opening credits I saw that John Leguizano partially produced it so I then suspected it was something close to him. That is not always the case but given I have watched films produced by actors deeply indebted to their respective causes (George Clooney and Robert Redford are two perfect examples)and I know right away if an actor stars in and produces I better strap myself in for a bit of unconventionality.

This film was unconventional. The acting was not all that bad. The costuming and styling were worse and that left the viewer unsure of the mood he/she was to suppose to attribute to the scene. Take for instance the dating scenes where Luguizano and the lead detective go out. One the fist date her hair is curly while it straight on the second date. Given her emotional turmoil did she dress to entice at times while at others she was depressed? If the film were edited better we would have discerned one state of mind from others. I could go on with other examples.

All in all the film suffered from poor editing. But Luguizao still wins my support. See his performance in SPAWN if you have not already.
