I think Ciara's a decent singer(on albums at least), but her acting is not the best i have to admit.

I am a Ciara fan. I have both of her cds and i support her shows because she is an amazng entertainer... but I do have to agree that at this point I'm not fully convinced that she is a vocal "powerhouse" yet. i think that she has a very nice voice, but the role does call for somebody with a very strong voice. However, I could be wrong. I didn't think much of Christina Milian until I saw Be Cool. If anything I would say that it's not fair to write Ciara off without giving her the chance to prove that she is right for the role... so let's watch the movie first and talk later.

When I first heard about this, I was a bit iffy about it too but who knows, perhaps Miss Harris will "WOW" us. I'm willing to give her a chance when the film comes out, I reckon she can pull it off though her voice isn't quite "powerhouse" just as yet but let's just wait and see how it goes.. ;)

I think the name calling on here is uncalled for, but I will say I have my doubts about Ciara also. She can hold a note, but she is by far no Desiree Coleman, D'Atra Hicks or Tisha Campbell who belted it out in the stage play.

Maybe she nailed it in her audition, but I think she got the role based on name, but like a few people have said, I'll wait for the movie to come out to make a judgment.

You don't have to see the movie. The title in itself is self-explanatory. I've seen enough of Ciara to know that she is a great dancer, but singing is most definitely her weak point.

^^^ It was an MTV film, in which she didn't have an acting coach, idiot! This one is different: it has professional actors and actresses within it, it's going to gain a theatrical release, AND Ciara acquired an acting coach--so suck on that!

To be honest, I don't think she can sing either...I mean, she's okay...if you like someone who basically sings on a mediocre level and dances like a...loose woman; nor do I think she is the best actress. But yeah...I hope the movie's good. It looks like the casting director or whoever is trying a bit too hard by putting so many huge stars in one movie.

Thank you..I've been reading all these comments and you finally said it..If you don't like Ciara for this role, THEN DON'T WATCH THE MUTHA-FOCKIN' MOVIE. I'm like thinking no one is being forced to watch the movie. Secondly they don't realize that their ignorant comments ain't gonna stop Ciara from being in the movie and it definitely ain't gonna make me refrain from watching the movie. So like grow up.
