Filming locations at the Black Sea

Does anyone know where the last few scenes (drive to his father's village, the beach, the tea field,...) had been shot?

Thanks,
S.

In the movie it is said that his father's hometown is "Trabzon" where is near the Black Sea in Turkey. And the tea garden or beach could be one place in there because tea is brought up most of the agricultural lands in Trabzon and the beach is the beach:). Plus, Trabzon is one of the countries of the Turkey. You can find that place on the eastern black sea cost from the Turkey's map and photos from the internet. Just write "trabzon resimleri" or "trabzon photos", onto google and search.
And, sorry for my bad english:)

The town near the beach seemed too small to be Trabzon. Could the term have referred to the area in general, and not necessarily the city?

A German newspaper interview with Akim about his upcoming film "Garbage In The Garden Of Eden" (see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1205487/) gives the name of the place (where the beach scene was filmed) as Camburnu, the home of his grandparents.

yeah, camburnu is one of the villages of the trabzon and the "Garbage In The Garden Of Eden" is filming there. so, did you try to say that camburnu also place where the last few scenes of the "The Edge of Heaven" had been shot?

Yes, that's how I understood the article. OK, I found the interview again. It's an interview about "Garbage In The Garden Of Eden" in the German Green Peace Magazine: http://www.greenpeace-magazin.de/index.php?id=2559:

"Wann haben Sie von der geplanten Deponie in Camburnu erfahren?

Ich war früher nie dort, es ist zwar das Dorf meiner Großeltern, aber meine Eltern sind woanders aufgewachsen. Aber ich wollte da schon immer mal hin. 2005 bin ich dann während der Recherche nach Schauplätzen für „Auf der anderen Seite“ nach Camburnu gekommen, der Film endet dort. Ich habe mich gleich in das Dorf verliebt."

He is asked how he first learned about the garbage dump in Carburnu. He says: "I had never been there before. It is the villlage of my grandparents, but my parents grew up elsewhere. But I've always wanted to visit. I finally went to Carburnu in 2005 while scouting for locations for „Auf der anderen Seite“ - IT IS WHERE THE FILM ENDS.[emphasis mine] I immediately fell in love with the village."

¿Who is Akim?

In any case, it's a beautiful area in Turkey, where I traveled in 2000. After about a month in Eastern Turkey, we returned to Istanbul down from the mountains to Trabzon, and along the Black Sea coast.

Not that it has to do with anything, but did you know that Bob Dylan's grandmother was from Trabzon!

From Bob Dylan's Chronicles, Vol. 1:

"Originally, [my grandmother had] come from Turkey, sailed from Trabzon, a port town, across the Black Sea — the sea that the ancient Greeks called the Euxine — the one that Lord Byron wrote about in Don Juan. Her family was from Kagizman, a town in Turkey near the Armenian border, and the family name had been Kirghiz. My grandfather's parents had also come from that same area, where they had been mostly shoemakers and leatherworkers. My grandmother's ancestors had been from Constantinople. As a teenager, I used to sing the Ritchie Valens song "In a Turkish Town" with the lines in it about the "mystery Turks and the stars above," and it seemed to suit me more than "La Bamba," the song of Ritchie's that everybody else sang and I never knew why."

Anyway....:)

I live in Georgia about 2 hours drive from Trabzon and this area. It is beautiful; we drive there every other month to enjoy the shopping center, delicious food, the coast, and the lovely Turks! His drive to Trabzon was very accurate and making me long for another trip there.

The very last shot was taken here 41°01'16.8"N 40°22'35.8"E , at Saraköy Ayle plaji, approximately 40km east of Trabzon, between Iyidere and Derepazari.

Thanks. I zeroed in on that spot as the movie ended. Very interesting.
