so the girl in the movie is named rachel right? the same girl that gets attacked at her house in the begining, then goes on to investigate the old house? so why does the back cover say her name is elizabeth?

They're the same person. She was Elizabeth, then they adopted her and named her Rachel.

oh ok thanks for clearing that up. they should have made that more clear. i couldn't get through it because of the names seemingly being inconsistant. now i'll have to watch it again.

It was clear for me, what wasn't hard to grasp? Sid Haig and Leslie Easterbrook's characters renamed her so she wouldn't find out the truth the her real father killed her family.
