When the grandama died Kate and Rebecca were at this flat, where Kate mistakenly thought the woman she was talking to had been in wheelchair. Then she stared at a box of stuff on the table and asked the woman where she got that. I probably missed something earlier but can someone tell me what's that supposed to mean?

Probably it was found there by the building superintendent when he emptied the trash, and he gave it to his wife. His wife is the woman Kate thought had been in a wheelchair. The only way the undertakers, Kate & Rebecca could get to the rear entrance of the building was by going through the flat where the super's family lived.
