The public school system measured his IQ at 80.

The Christian school system measured his IQ at 110.

Whose measurement was correct?

What the hell is your point?

reply

The public school system wasn't meeting his needs, nor was his biological family.

Most likely this part of the story was added for dramatic effect. IQ testing is highly controversial. Read up on Larry P. vs. Riles.

An IQ test is only as accurate as the person taking it ares to be. If I went into an IQ test and decided that I did not give a care about it im pretty sure I would walk out with them saying I have the IQ of a goat. Which I believe would have been accurate here as he is shown to not care about what the teachers said or tried to teach him.

It is only controversial when certain groups do not do well. Nobody gets bothered when Asians out score whites. They get mad when blacks score 10-12 points below whites every time.

The people who make up these tests, administer them and interpret the results are not right wingers.

I think this added for dramatic license. In real life there was nothing wrong with Michal Oher's IQ. He just wasn't motivated to do well in school until the family took him in.

This is true. My schooling was similar to his, many different schools over the years to where most schools just passed me to move forwards, I got lost in the school system. I quit doing any homework by the time I was in the 9th grade. At 17 similar to Mike I went to a private Christian school that offered to take me under their wing. When the school tested me I was not even prepared for the 10th grade. But out of pity, they agreed to put me into it as long as I took extra classes to get me up to where I needed to be for 10th grade. I didn't have big success as Mike of course. I ended up quitting school, took GED classes, and to my surprise, I passed almost perfectly! Everyone was shocked but I was shocked even more. My point is many school systems had given up on me and but that didn't make me stupid. Mike was not stupid either. I think he needed to see people had faith in him and that helped him gain faith in himself too. When you are lost in the school system each day makes you feel like a failure. You just give up because what is the point anymore?

For his sake I hope the second IQ is the correct one.

He scored a 19 on the wonderlic at the NFL combine which is average. The wonderlic is mini IQ test. A 20 on the wonderlic is like a 100 IQ.
