Believe it or not, the actor, PJ Byrne, who plays Jonesy is my father's second cousin and he's confirmed 2 things:
1. his character was in fact the killer, though the black dude was set up and turned into the #1 suspect
2. despite airing only 2 episodes, they did in fact film 7

Thanks for the tip irishpisano! And thanks for being so gracious to share this info with us, we were left hanging when the show was canceled! I would not have expected Jonesy, although looking back now, he was a bit nervous (or am I thinking of the second episode?). Another reason to watch the pilot again! :-) A big congratulations to PJ Byrne, your father's second cousin for being on the show! I'm sure he had a great time while the show lasted. Wish we had a full season though!

So sorry to hear about his grandfather passing, Irishpisano...actually what I meant was just to pass on well wishes to who you talked to from your family who shared about him and of the episodes being filmed to you and your family. I saw P.J. Byrne's IMDB page and he has a lot of future movies and projects lined up after VL. We all wish him well here! :-) It will be great to see what the other cast members will line up soon. But I'll have to admit, I still really miss watching Viva Laughlin! Hope we'll get to see the rest of the episodes sometime soon!
sharei can't wait to see him in Charlie Wilson's War... albeit a small part... i think given the film, it'll be a little different role than his standard background role (Bruce Almighty, Dick and Jane, etc...)
