Lexi cell phone (spoilers!)

So I had watched the movie for the 5th time and I picked up on a few things that I didn't catch the first time. Just about each character dies just before they go to say or do something thats enlightening about their character.

-Sky dies just before she is about to tell everyone a way they could get out of killing someone and still "rule the scene" (which would have ended the movie a bit early. so its a good thing she died)

-Macon lights himself on fire just before hes about to tell Hell Hound something personal. ( he doesn't really die but never reveals what he was about to say.)

-Paul is about to finally take the picture that he had spent all night trying to set up and dies just as he hits the shutter button.

-Lexi dies as she uncharacteristically helps the knight(chris) out of his shackles so he can escape.

Now the one thing that is driving me aboslutely crazy is that after the axe is driven into Lexi's head the camera zooms in on her cell phone. I feel like this is also an insightful moment of this character but the camera never gets close enough for me to be able to read the damn text. All I see is a vague picture of possibly a woman, which leads me to believe that she is not calling the police. It's bothering me a lot and I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me whats on the phone.

It's very difficult to see on the small screen (or the big screen, for that matter) but it's the caller ID on her phone saying that her mother is calling her at that very moment, "Incoming call...Mom" or something like that. (Sad little detail.)

And for extra trivia, the face of Lexi's mom vaguely seen on the phone is actually Erin Dougherty, the costume designer on the movie!

Thanks so much for the response! I really appreciate it.

Heh, hey there OP, Go further!

Let's see....

Hell Hound dies (assuming the cocaine he ate kills him) after disfiguring his owner (who was going to kill him soon) and thereby foiling his escape

Bill Dies just before he was about to Kill Chris and eliminate all the witnesses to his murderous rampage

You *could* argue that Macon dies right after finding an outlet for "Ol' Painless", and un-knowingly saves Chris' life (I like your version better)

Hmm, Hopefully I didn't change the idea you made, but Your thread made my "mind-grapes" wonder. (I mean that in a good way, not, like, using mind-grapes as a euphamism for a tumor or anything.)

Lexi was really funny. She was one of my favorite characters in the movie definitely, and the fact that it was her mom on the phone just makes her funnier to me. I didn't really see it as an uncharacteristic action when she freed Chris, because she seemed the least committed to the goal of the party. She didn't actually have a plan and didn't know how she was going to kill him. She seemed to mostly be there just to impress her friends. She wasn't as deranged as say, Bill (another of my favorite characters) she was trying to come off as being more evil than she really was.
