Your posting caught my eye! I have traveled a bit in Ireland and found that much of the Ireland we rarely see is composed of lovely, friendly, small towns like the one portrayed in "Garage". I was also curious as to the filming location, so I watched the film credits carefully. There, deeply hidden in the final credits was a thanks to the people of Rathcabbin. This is a small town in County Tipperary. Here's part of the description from Wikipedia:
Rathcabbin is a quiet town situated in County Tipperary in Ireland. The village contains 2 bars and a village shop. Both these bars are very popular with the friendly locals. The national school in the village is highly recommended by all the locals, who are always very helpful and caring.
