DO NOT GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!...It is terrible and all of the above are lying to you.

reply

why would they lie?i have noticed that people advise you to watch a movie when its first released, promising it to be good when it turned out to be bad.
do you suppose its some kind of advertising scheme,an attempt to deceive the public into thinking its a good film when they know its not?

reply

Mostly it's people who worked on the film that write the first reviews. You can safely say that they might not be very objective. A tip is to check if they've written any more reviews or if they out of the blue decided to write their first for a completely unknown movie.

Not saying this is definitely the case here, but for most movies it is.

reply

I must confirm that I am also bemused by some of these good reviews. The acting is poor, the plot is dull and this story has been treated better many other times. And it is not only too predictable, but after 1 hour in her cage you just don't care. Your mind switches off. In another thread someone writes that it is much better than Captivity. I would say that it is almost as bad and boring. May be one point above. But certainly not 6. And why do all these girls react so stupidly in these films, when they get the opportunity of killing their tormentor ? This film should reach the end after 1 minute, if the first girl finished the guy off. But then, there would be no film...

>> no one ASKED for your opinion

Which is another way of saying you only consider bought and paid for opinions valid? Nifty.

>> Do you know the difference between an Objective, Super Objective & Through line?

Nope. Do I care? Nope. Am I a film student? Nope. Most people aren't. If you want accolades from the public at large do not craft your material in such a way that only film students ( or others as familiar with the material ) could decipher it. Litmus : if the translation to production is indecipherable, you've done something wrong.

I just find it amazing that Rudi's lipstick is perfect, throughout her torture and confinement.

reply

I watched this movie last night and Rudy's make up bothered me too. After 5 seconds my make up would be a disaster because I'd be a crying blubbering freaking out mess.

reply

I have downloaded this movie will watch it tomorrow, hope it's good. :-)
How do you guys compare it with: Saw, Hostel or Captivity?!?

peace

it depends on how you would act in a situation,if bruce willis hid in a cupboard, blubbering like a little baby when terrorists took over that skyscraper then "die hard" would have probably been called "cry easy" & would not have been very good to watch.

Did ya now.. how'd you see it.. you must've downloaded it.. it's not showing anywhere..

reply

those who worked on the film got paid.
some people are offended to have to pay 30 dollars for a piece of plastic.
personally i completely agree with people who download movies rather than pay for them, because atleast this way youre getting something for your money.
buying a dvd gives you rights to THAT disc
you arent allowed to replicate it even for yourself, or move it from one media device to another.
all you own is a piece of plastic that holds information that you have no rights to.
why would someone bother paying so much for nothing?
as we own a video shop, we have to pay for all the movies anyway. hopefully making the money back and then some through rentals. we have no trouble making ends meet, though the film industry would love for you to believe otherwise.
cheap replicas of clothes are available too, u dont see those companies going out of business.

jsut seen this movie and i actually quite enjoyed it. quite what it had to do with a cellar door i dont know, but none the less quite enjoyable.
you could obviously tell it was low budget, the stabbing scenes, particulary the sound effects, reminded me of pyscho but with more blood, but even with the low budget it managed more tense scenes than the more main stream horror blockbusters. er captivity anyone?
i think what i found most freaky tho was rudy's eyes! that girl had the look of pure evil, it made me start to sympathise with herman!
i thought the relationship between the 2 characters was excellent and it was refreshing to see the 'victim' as not some screaming, incapable little girl, but one whos experience actually made her strogner.
