The reason why IMDB only has this @ 5.1

If you look at the average, all those over 45 have given this an average of something like 3.1, I don't quite remember now what it was, but no wonder why such a great documentary on Techno was brought down by those who most likely don't even care about Techno.

The last time I looked at it, it was 7.7
I gave it a 6. I thought it was really good, but too short and didn't go into the second wave much and didn't mention the Festival At ALL.

I've just been to a showing of this film followed by a q&a with Derrick May, and he is well into his 40s. Why so anti over 40s? ;)

I do agree it was a great documentary though that covered the earlier period very well.

Yes it's good to see that the ratings of this documentary have risen somewhat. The original ranks as of last January when I originally posted had this doc a 5.1 which I thought was a little disappointing, and well my earlier remarks on the 45+ were based on their actual votes was all, lol.

reply

In fact now that I look at it, either those votes have been removed by IMDB staff or the voters themselves, hence the 7+ rating. Hey maybe my rant counted for something ;)

The content is pretty interesting and worth watching, but making a docu is something else. For instance, putting like 40 talking heads in a 60+ min. movie to tell the story is ridiculous. Or not showing at least one track in its entirety doesn't get the point across concerning the strength of this type of music. Maybe you have to be over 45 to see 'errors' like that? It's like YT; Don't you hate it when a good song with a bad video still gets 5 stars?

I don't feel the arguments for the movie being not so good, although I can understand it. For people from inside the house/techno scene the movie is brilliant. Then you already know all the ppl interviewed, the songs, etc. But if you're new to this world, then it should've been longer with more explanation maybe, yes.
