i know most hate this but....

this is one of the best modern traditional zombie films made the past few years (along with The Dead) that wasn't a Romero film. i love the tone, i love the gritty look. it's what diary of the dead should have been (though i was ok with that film). how could people not like this? it's a zombie film in it's purest form (POV angle notwithstanding).

I thought this movie was well-done, but I didn't really like it. A big reason is that they hype on the container FAR over-hyped the film, and also didn't portray the movie at all. You get some bad-a$$ looking dude with two guns and you're like "all right, let's see some zombie butt kicking." Nope, this movie is downright depressing and ends, frankly, kinda sickly.

Was it good? Sure, I guess. Unsettling, tense, and leaves you emotionally umpacted, but when they tell you you're up for something closer to "28 Weeks Later" and give you "The Blair Witch Project," it's understandable that more people don't like it.

Or the fact that the script has enough plotholes to drop a moon through could be the real reason for the hate. When actors are using Cameras for no valid reason. Zombies that are non-threatening 3/4 of the time until they become ninja zombies appearing out of thin air to attack someone. Hell only the Goke character was the only sensible part of the entire film.

what plot holes? serious question. and them holding the cams is a non issue IMO. stupid yeah but that's in meta way.

I don't pay attention to movie hype (and only watch once they're on DVD), so I had nothing to be disappointed by. I had to watch the movie twice before I understood the connections between the vignettes. The first viewing, then, was boring, but the second was disturbing and therefore I loved it.
