Hey Roger, i see you spammed a new thread. If the film failed, how come it won 2 prestigious awards?

reply

Oh its one of those awards that they give to everyone, kind of like everyone wins a medal at the special olympics.

reply

Keep on denying it haters! I'm loving this.

reply

lol, where did it come in the 2009 awards & why didnt you put this link last year?
lol, its one of your old spammy threads that got deleted.
lol

Also it won "Marketing Initiative of the Year, Non-Theatrical", now does that mean it never got released in the cinema?

reply

I am still waiting on a sales figures post from you. Till then you are still a troll doing this for the lulz or a member of the crew.

just read that link i posted and weep Doomtrooper. They wouldn't give a marketing award to a film that didnt sell any copies. Your argument holds no weight at all.

reply

I read the marketing award link. They gave it to the marketing team not to the Director or Crew of the film. Even then it was for MARKETING. Not for concept or anything else directly related to the film.

The concept was so good that George Romero copied it a year later.

reply

Except for the fact that Romero had already had plans on doing the Diary of the Dead. Trust me I was working initially on a similar script and changed my mind when I learned of it. Instead it turned into something else. Would have filmed it this past September but could not get the leave of absence from work to do so. Though at the moment I am changing out my Canon XL-1 cameras for Sony XDCams. Ticks me off I can't get to work on filming the material we currently have just so I can prove that I am better than the crew of ZD. :)

LOL!!!

This is brilliant. I challenge you to make a better (and more successful) film than Zombie Diaries. To succeed you will need to have lots of positive reviews from renowned horror sites and magazines, have your film screened at festivals around the world, gain a worldwide release on dvd and scoop awards.

The challenge is set and believe me, you will not succeed. Prove me wrong and come back here in, say 2 years?

reply

Actually as I said the plan currently is to shoot this upcoming September. And unlike ZD my film actually has zombies in it. Zombies that are actually frightening. :) Also try in that time frame to get some proof of sales success. As for the critical acclaim of horror sites that means honestly nothing to me since if you give them enough goodies they will claim 2Girls1Cup is an excellent horror film. :)

It sounds like DoomTrooper has a good head on it's shoulders. At the very least, it sounds like he is actually aiming for the 'core' audience. The fans demand zombies and decent looking zombies at that. "The Zombie Diaries" barely has any of the walking dead in it and they look like rubbish in my opinion. If and when his film does come out, I'm sure he will keep everyone on here up to date about the film's financial status, something that the people behind this film have yet to do. As a matter of fact, all of the evidence points otherwise. As for the various horror sites that promoted the film, they may mean a lot to you, but they don't to me. For instance, the website "Bloody Disgusting" is in bed with Platinum Dunes, so they're word doesn't mean much and unfortuantely, there are lot of other sites like that. If everyone went by the most popular websites and critics, then everyone in the world would love "Diary of the Dead". Why? Because Roger Ebert is pretty much one of the most successful critics around and he gave it a great review.

reply

Name some sites then Roger and Doomtrooper will have to get good reviews on them.

reply

We'll let you pick the sites.

reply

No, because then you will claim that the sites are not credible - as you've laughably done with Zombie Diaries. So Rogerdemarco30 can pick the sites and Doomtrooper will send his film to them for review.

Then we'll see if he has succeeded or, more than likely, failed. Of course, I know that Doomtrooper will never make his film as most people on here who moan about films are frustrated filmmakers who never got off their ass and made a film like the zombie diary guys did.

reply

You're the guy that whines about credibility. You balk about me posting up negative reviews from various blogs and say that they don't count. Yet you turn around and post positive reviews from other blogs and then vouch for their credibility. As for Doomtrooper making a film, maybe it gets made, maybe it doesn't. But by using "The Zombie Diaries" as a basis for comparison, he's already got one good foot in the door. Because I'm sure he won't repeat the same mistakes that Bartlett and Gates did.

reply

Actually I have the script for the first film registered with the WGA and the US Copyright office. Right now I am working in the sandbox to Self-Finance the film. Unlike the team from Zombie Diaries I am not going to get a government handout to make a film. If the budget was as high as they claim I fail to see why they could not produce a quality film. I have seen films shot for $30K that look better.

In fairness, you will only fail and waste your money. You will not beat the Zombie Diaries success.

reply

Well since all the data that is available, points towards the movie not being successful, he might have a chance.

and on that day, Satan will be skating to work.
