The final series.

Clare Thomas has said on Twitter that the fifth season of Young Dracula is the final one. Looking back on her Twitter account, some of the tweets she made when filming of the fifth season concluded in August last year do indicate that the cast knew the show had come to an end.

I didn't knew that until now but it does not surprise with the way this series have been developing. I'm gonna miss this programme.

That's unfortunate but it's kind of slowly been losing steam in terms of the laughs it can get out of me.

So on the one hand it sucks but on the other hand it's good they aren't exhausting the show to the point where I hate it.

I just now caught up with the show and am also sad to see 5 was the last series.

I've loved YD from the beginning (and I'm an adult). I thought it was funny and cute early on and I wasn't sure if I would continue to like it as much once things became darker. But having seen it through to the end, I find that I love how the show changed and matured right along with Vlad and Ingrid (and, I assume, the majority of its audience). If it continued, it easily could have progressed into a post-adolescent/new adult series. At the least, I would love to see the occasional tv-movie or mini-series.
