The Ending a Given?

This is based on the lost colony, right?

Isn't the ending a given? Adrian Paul fails?

reply

yeah, you're right.

It's ironic - we are still talking (and making movies) about the Lost Colony when in reality, the colony failed.

reply

No.

It's probable that the original colonists survived on the mainland. They didn't die, but instead "went native" and joined the Indians. There are many reports of English-speaking Indians with surnames that match the original colonists.

These native Americans who spoke English and had matching surnames..did they mention Norse Ghosts or Adrian Paul?

reply

Yes, it's based on the story of the lost colony, but Adrian's character doesn't fail. He does succeed in destroying the wraiths, but dies doing it along with almost all of the colony's inhabitants, except for his daughter Virginia Dare. She survived and was apparently taken in and raised by Manteo, the Crotoan chieftain.

reply

I thought she became one of Buffy's predecessors as a Vampire Slayer.

("...he said, sarcastically.")

reply

So that would make Mateo her "watcher"?
Ha, ha
