anyone read The Terror, by Dan Simmons?

it just occured to me that this movie and the book have similar qualities. The Terror is about the John Franklin expedition that disappeared in the Arctic. the author adds a mystical quality, partly in the form of a huge monstrous polar bear of sorts who goes on a killing spree. he did do a lot of research, and as a result the book is fantastic. i recommend it to anyone who liked the concept of this movie.
