I LIKED IT.

I enjoy a good ghost story that is not the usual, "Oooo scary creature; run" variety. This story drew upon history (early Vikings explored the eastern coast circa 1000 A.D. plus the lost colonoy of Roanoke) and a little bit of mythology (Valhalla) to create something unique & different from the usual mindless Freddy Krueger-style trash.

Also, I thought the acting was as good as any you'd find in a weekly installment of Law and Order, or CSI, or Battlestar Galactica. Especially Adrian Paul who does have real talent.

Overall, I felt that 1.5 hours was well-spent.

Talent? I never liked him when he was in Highlander. Christopher Lambert was better. The only good movie that Adrian Paul was in was The Breed.

Even if support Lambert was "better", that doesn't negate the idea that Adrian Paul is a good actor. They can BOTH be good.

I watched it last night, I had read the reviews and thought that it might be worse, but was pleasantly surprised it was a pretty watchable movie,, the plotline had adventure (settlers breaking in a new land), Norse mythology, dwindling numbers,, I truly liked watching it.

Well I was watching the Sci-Fi Channel, and most of their weekendmovies are crap, so yes I had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to discover I enjoyed the Viking/Roanoke mythos.

I agree, though I didn't catch all of it. I thought it was a decent idea for a story and acted just as well as most mainstream movies. Much better than many scifi Saturday movies, though I admit I will sit through even the worst of these occasionally. Also, I am an Adrian Paul fan, and think he did a good job in this one.

are you going to bark all day little doggie,, or are you going to bite

I dug it as well. The wraiths were pretty creepy and the Norse mythology was inspired and different.
