Why did the lawyer try to free Crews?
Why did the lawyer in season 1 take the time to free Crews and how did she turn up the evidence to free him?

sharethey never really told us the answer to that question. I got the feeling that they had known each other for some time and had gone through some sort of hard time/trauma together some time in the past. That is just my surmising, though.
Just some food for thought,
Peace, Y'all!

I think she was somehow knowledgeable of the whole bank robbery
shareI don't know if she had any knowledge of the bank robbery, but I believe that she was led to Charlie's case by someone [Mickey Rayborn?] who knew not only about the robbery, but also about the murder of Charlie's friend and his family, for which Charlie went to prison in the first place.
shareI felt that she was some kind of pro bono lawyer & this case somehow got her attention(Media perhaps). She believed Charlie despite all the evidence that was stacked against him for some reason & somewhere along the lines she & Charlie developed an emotional & intellectual romance of sorts. I was pretty bummed when they simply forgot about her in the show. She & Charlie had a great dynamic.

She was a bleeding heart looking for a cause, and luckily found a real one with an attractive man
