According to a brief "Making Of" featurette I saw recently, the animals running with the main character were real wolves, not dogs made up to look like wolves. That's impressive!

yeah now that would be pretty impressive to me.. i didn't catch that part though , my cheap disc didn't have that on there.

Yes that is very impressive in my opinion to use real wolves for this film.

Is that why the guy running with the wolves looks like he wants to *beep* himself? Because he runs like he has diarrhea.

I've gotten to play with a real wolf once.
They're actually really sweet and pretty shy creatures.
