Well you enjoyed it, that's all that matters, I'm currently watching it and as a man who actually think thick women or BBW's are beautiful, as they accept themselves and say, "Screw societies rules" I am a bit blah with it, the fat jokes are just annoying and unless its a health risk I hate that gastric bypass seems to be the first resort, instead of the last. Melissa is a beautiful woman. I did see a film called Bluberella on Netflix, which was a thick woman parody of Bloodrayne 3 and that was a total travesty, even the actress said the only reason she did it was because there aren't a lot of respectable roles for thick or overweight women without jokes and she wanted to be in it to avoid being offended seeing someone else

i didn't think it was that awful either.. i enjoyed how all the characters broke apart and the main character realizes that skinny doesn't equal happiness.

I love the cast. Octavia Spencer, Melissa McCarthy. It was great.

I just watched this when it randomly popped up on one of the Roku channels & saw it had a number of well known, good actors. Obviously it isn't Oscar or Sundance quality but it was pleasant enough. Most of these threads make it seem like it is completely unwatchable.

I did think it lacked some insight about certain dynamics in the group & the character development could've been better (almost all of them were one dimensional, with Thumper being the exception). Despite its flaws, this was easy watching, had a couple of funny moments, touching scenes and not too much cheese.

Quality wise, I'd put it on par with a good "made for tv" / Lifetime type of film.

I just watched this on Netflix and I enjoyed it too. Of course, Lucy is a selfish person all along and her motives are just dumb, she doesn't really care about anyone but herself ; she is making a kind of show about herself at the beginning and even after that in some ways. But I loved the two other characters, women Mary and Becky, very funny and very real. Not ugly/kinda fat at all, but healthy, sexy and interesting. I liked Raye too, because he was just trying to fit in or at least to hold on and it was kind of amusing, but I disliked Becky's husband who was so conceited! George and the others like Austin were okay/nice/fun to watch.
So I liked this movie, which is a good display of human characters and I enjoyed following the hike in beautiful, breathtaking Montana. It gave me the idea to go there: all the wilderness.... and the views are so gorgeous! America the beautiful indeed ???

I'm French, so English is my second language; I'm sorry for some errors I might have made. I've been living in the US for a few years though, so I am not that bad ???
