Fields of Gold

The song "Fields of Gold" played on another TV movie not long ago. I loved the song and the movie, but now I can't remember the movie title. DOES ANYONE KNOW?

In answer to my own question: After more research, this song was played on the final episode of "Everwood". The song was also played on "Maid in Manhattan". I also discovered that Eva Cassidy passed away on Nov 2, 1996. She died of skin cancer at age 33. I now can see why this song was chosen for the movie. It meant more than just a song - It was sung by a young girl that has been there. The web site I visited said that the song "Fields of Gold" has been held in the hearts of many families going through difficult times. The song has also been used in many cancer ads. In 2001, I lost my best friend from breast cancer - Now, THIS SONG, means MORE.

Eva Cassidy was an *amazing* musician and person. When I saw this movie, I instantly recognized the song, and started bawling, because I knew that her beautiful voice wasn't in the world anymore... When I see movies like this, I am reminded of one of my fifth grade teachers. She was absolutely beautiful... long blonde hair (like Eva Cassidy and Sarah Chalke from the film)... blue eyes, sweet smile and everything. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and lost the fight at age 36. I am so glad that they used Eva's version of the song. I wish that more people knew of her music.

Disney has the best casting. If he doesn't like an actor he just tears him up.

Fields of Gold by the incomparible Eva Cassidy was also played in 2 episodes of Dawson's Creek in Season 4.

a) Episode 'Great Expectations' over the last scene between Joey & Dawson after their night out.

b) Episode 'The Graduate' over the scenes where all the character's graduate from Capeside High and Pacey goes on his summer holidays.
