Lmao!! good one! and the police would have been able to trace the ping, or signal, like the did w/ Brittanee Drexal missing from Murtle Beach...until of course the battery goes dead.

You're forgetting the obvious answer. Of course the killer recharged the cellphone everyday, just in case he needed to use it to torment the mother. It was just damn lucky that the mother kept paying that cellphone bill the last 5 years. Or maybe she had a long term contract with Sprint that she couldn't break.. even in death.

As for the police pinging the phone. It looked like they only had 1 cop in the whole town and his idea of "pinging" is cruising for teen-aged girls on the 'net. Not exactly the "Law & Order" type cop.

Yea the cop acted like a roid raged bully.

It's not the battery. The phone was always charged. Every night. For five years. Now, if only I could remember to do that, maybe my phone wouldn't die as often.

Lol true..well maybe Sarah just turned the phone on when she was trying to figure out whose it was? But the murderer dude did check the messages, member he was listening to Sarah's voice mail pleaing Jillian to tell her to come home? I guess making sure he was in the clear or what not.

The thing I reaaallly didn't like about the end was that the police just come and it's like we're supposed to assume that the police take care of everything and it's all happilly ever after, but we find out that the police are corrupt..so how is them coming a good thing...and why would sarah tell patti to call them when she found the suitcases, if she knows how corrupt and unwilling they are to help in the first place??

Possible. But like I also said.. who in the hell paid that cellphone bill the last 8 years??? Her alcoholic mother??? The killer?? If the phone only dialed 911, then sure.. it's on for emergency dialing, but it called the mother indicating some level of service. Even prepaid phone minutes run out way before 5 years time.

Well, the mother did say she liked calling the daughter's cell just to hear her voice recording so it's likely the mother kept paying the phone bill. I turned off old phone when I got a new one and 8 months later, it still had a full battery so if the cell phones were turned off, it's possible some of them still worked.

I posted this exact ? On another message!! I wondered who paid the bill when the mom looked like she couldn't even pay her rent or own electricity and have furniture much less pay a cell phone for someone who's missing/dead for 5 whole years! I guess that's what her government aid went to, booze and her daughters cell phone. So sad if you think about it.
