Goofs for the Series (Originally in 1993 OVA Thread)

So, I figured some people might find the errors in the episodes and this is IMDB and one of my favorite things about it is looking for errors and trivia. So I'll start off, add as you find things. This was originally posted in the 1993 OVA thread years ago, but I figured I would move it here finally.

This forum isn't dead yet, and some of the earlier favorites such as the EPISODE SYNOPSIS thread, the VOICE ACTOR thread and a few others will begin updating again soon. For now, enjoy reading through these errors and issues. I never posted them primarily because the issue for posting the first one below to IMDB officially, took forever.

[Continuity]-In Episode 1, Keiichi races home to take a phone call at exactly 7:00pm. At exactly 8:00pm, he attempts to call Aoima to tell him how the call went, and the Goddess Help Line reroutes his call and Belldandy is called to Keiichi's home. However, in Episode 2, when Belldandy converses with the machines in the dorm, the Betamax video player is shown and the clock reads 7:38pm.

[Continuity]-In Episode 1, the Motor Club seniors force Keiichi to stay home and do all the chores while they head out to a party that they will not return from until 9:00pm [revealed in Episode 2]. However, in Episode 2 they are shown to be outside working on Keiichi's motorcycle. Later, it is revealed that the bike being fixed is part of the system force's control over keeping Keiichi and Belldandy together...

One problem. The episode shows them fixing it before Keiichi ever made the wish. The system force wouldn't have been in effect yet. Also, the other point. They were supposed to be at a party, so why were they downstairs fixing his bike?
[Continuity]- In Episode 1 it is revealed that Keiichi is very short for a man, five-foot, three-inches. He stands beside Belldandy [Episode 2] and it is revealed that she is about a foot taller then he is. However, throughout the rest of the series the size difference is inconsistant. At times Belldandy will be taller, and Keiichi shorter yet at others the both of them are the exact same height. This is most noticible when they are walking side by side, or sitting across from each other.

[Error, Possibly intentional]-In the Episode 5 dub, in the class the professor is giving a lecture on engine functions and their various purposes. Keiichi is too busy thinking about his feelings for Belldandy and it's revealed the professor is standing beside him. The professor asks if he got it all and Keiichi cries out "I love her!". The professor responds "Yeah, Cylinders always did it for me too kid". However, if you listen to the actual lecture, the professor is giving a history of the creation of crank engines. He never mentions cylinders once.
[Continuity]- In Episode 12, near the end of the episode, Urd confronts Mara in Sayoko's home. When she picks up the Demon's CD case a Bug jumps out and grabs the case, vanishing again. Urd and Mara both see the Bug with no problem and are stunned. However, in Episode 13 in order to see the bug's it's revealed that a special pair of tinted glasses is needed. Urd and Mara were not wearing glasses.

[Error, Possibly intentional]-It is revealed in Episode 14 that Skuld has yet to learn magic, yet this can't be as she exhibits Magic on many occassions. Including the ability to move through hot liquids, the portal she creates in the ocean to stop Keiichi from telling Belldandy he loves her and so on.

[Continuity]- At the end of Episode 6, Urd is stricken by the Almighty One with a bolt of lightning. A message states her powers have been revoked and that she is to stay on Earth. The revoking of her powers can't have been for that long because she is able to phaze through walls, fly, use electrical attacks and teleport among other things she does, and these are all before the "Lord of Terror" story arc where her powers are supposedly restored!

[Error, Possibly intentional]- When Mara is first freed from the DEMOM CD she tells the seniors that she will grant them one wish. This is answered by her getting hit with a Good Luck charm and being told to "Get out!". This is taken as the wish but technically neither of the seniors ever said it was their official wish. This same thing happened when Belldandy asked Keiichi his wish, he stated "I want a Goddess like you, to be with me always". He never states that he wished for that, he just wanted it.

[Error, Possibly intentional]- In the ending credits on the DVD version, every one of the character's names are the English dub translations, however the only name that remains untranslated is Mara's, keeping the original Japanese spelling. She is only called by this name [her real name] in the Japanese versions. Mara is her English translation.

[Continuity]- In Episode 11, during the battle in the park between Belldandy and Mara, there are people seen in the background, holding their children's hands and watching. However, whenever the playground itself is shown, the two children are the only other people in the entire area.

[Animation Error]- Mara's fangs constantly disappear and reappear in multiple shots throughout the series. There are supposed to be two fangs that rest on either side of her mouth atop her lower lip. At first the series corresponds one side or the other, then has both of them then finally, they vanish altogether. The best episode to see this in is Episode 16.

[Incorrectly Regarded as Goof]- The logo on the side of the three-wheel offroad vehicle for the motor club is NIT MCC. Nekomi Institute of Technology Motor Club, only has one C. This is actually a tribute to the manga where Fujishima-san, in a tired stupor while drawing the rally arc, accidentally added an extra C to the panel. The animation team kept it in as an homage. Later in the manga series the C is given a designation officially designating it as "Nekomi Institute of Technology Motor Club Crew".
[Continuity]- In the Valentine's Day episode, in the scene where Belldandy is reminiscing about Keiichi's behavior with Megumi. She is sitting at the table facing towards the windows with Megumi sitting directly across from her, when the flashback occurs it is revealed that Keiichi was sitting directly to the left of her. However, when the flashback ends it turns into Belldandy and Megumi and in the shot Megumi is shown sitting in Keiichi's place. When we move back to the long shot, Megumi is once again sitting directly across from Belldandy. How could she switch places so fast?

[Error, Possibly intentional]- Possibly dubbing error. In Episode 3, Keiichi is working on the roof and accidentally breaks it. Belldandy saves him and all is well. That night, with Holy Bell, she restores the temple [and we clearly see Keiichi's unfinished work on the roof being magically completed]. However, the next day when the Monk leaves Keiichi states that he'd "better get to work on that hole in the roof". Belldandy says "Well, that's one more thing to look forward to isn't it?". But, she just repaired the roof the night before!
