The 'beautiful girl', Britanny

She's got to be the ugliest "beautiful girl" I've ever seen in a movie.

Just because someone's got a trim figure and long blonde hair does not automatically make them "the most beautiful girl in school." They could have found someone not only better, but also less annoying.

Ugliest? Probably not but you do make a point.

reply

Okay not ugliest - but definitely nowhere near the "beautiful girl" they made her out to be.

Yeah, but it's like it never happens in movies...right? lol

Well, as boyhood crushes go...

agree

She's a real carpenter's dream "Flat as a board and needs a screw"

Personally, I found it a pretty accurate portrayal of how shallow teens can be. Looking back on some of the so-called "hotties" of my high school days, it is only now apparent that most of them were hideous fugging chuds.

I am a girl and all but I thought Fang was better looking than Brittany. But that is just my opinion. To each their own, I guess.

i am also female and thought Penelope blew them away in the looks department.

reply

Agree, she was hideous and had a weird shaped head.

Since they all fit into stereotypes, as soon as I saw her I immediately thought she was going to be the fat girl because it just made sense. Picture me completely baffled when she turned out to be the "Hot Girl". Then I thought "well this is different, they're trying to promote a healthy body image" so I was getting into it, but then the movie took a left turn into completely ludicrous and lost me. How could I take it seriously when the killer grabs her by the [lack of] neck and proceeds to lift it from the ground. It didn't make sense when the killer was 6'3/ 200lbs and it makes less sense at the reveal during the end.

What movie were you watching? Britanny did not look fat.

reply

She wasn't chubby, but she didn't have a nice body either. She wore skinny jeans with her weird short legs, no a$$ and no real shape. She reminded me of those plump emo guys who squeeze themselves in skinny jeans and tight t-shirts that displays their flab oozing from their waste because they wore clothes that were 5 sizes too small.

When Bug called her beautiful my initial thoughts of why this chick got the role after seeing her face was, "is she related to the producers of this film or is someone being blackmailed to guarantee she is in this movie?"

That's the thing, she's a popular girl in a small town. I thought it was very realistic. The popular jock was also normal-looking, which is realistic for a small town. They actually looked like real teenagers that could be at any school in any small town. I recently went to my sister's high school graduation and the blonde popular girl had man-ish features and was a little thick.

"What world are you living in? I don't need friends. I need fans."

She is a very pretty young girl, no doubt. But I do agree, for the "holier than thou, would kill for a kiss on the cheek" character she was portrayed as, there was a lot to be desired

Penelope was the prettiest one, but I think the point was to make someone fit into the most stereotypical ideal of beautiful. Brandon is a super jock/asshóle, Bug is meek and creepy, Alex is grungy and a laidback comedian, Penelope is religious and wears modest clothing, etc. Everyone had to fit a mold, and Brittany being blonde and safe looking translate into the "beauty" ideal.

A bit of the old ultraviolence...

She and Fang were the prettiest. You must be a freak but that's ok.
