Bummed, thought it was real

Didnt read or hear anything prior to seeing this so I figured it was real. Kudos to the film makers for that. But finding out these are all actors is a big bummer. Second movie this week that I had to find out after seeing, then researching, that it was not what it appeared to be. This was basically Blair Witch caliber.

Seriously? You really thought a thief this clever would allow himself to be filmed committing these crimes? I didn't know anything going into it either, but before the film even ends you HAVE to come to the conclusion that there's no way it's real.

And about your Blair Witch reference, Blair Witch was way better than this. Both were clearly not real (I knew going into Blair Witch that it wasn't real so we had different experiences I guess), but Blair Witch scared the hell outta me. After watching Street Thief all I could think was "Why did they make this movie? Either film the real thing (which probably isn't possible unless the thief is a real moron) or don't bother." To me a mockumentary needs to be something more than just a fake documentary; it has to evoke some emotion to be worthy of making, like laughter or fright. To make a mockumentary that is ONLY a fake documentary is a waste - just film the real thing. After saying all this however, I did enjoy the movie; it's actually the first mockumentary I've watched that wasn't funny or scary. I think maybe if I knew going into it what it was that I would have enjoyed it even more.
