huh?

I know exactly what you mean. Has children's television gone so far that we have to incorporate styles of music in the show. What's next "Ozzy Ozborn magical fairy tour" And kids on this show should not be so freakin happy. TLC is below retarded with this show.

reply

Absolutely!!

and you two guys can kiss our *beep* asses

I agree, I hate this show. I do like having my son watch Paz and Hi-5, but as soon as Hip Hop Harry comes on, we either change the station, or go take a bath. I dont really want my son thinking that its okay to throw his arms around all ghetto style.

reply

Ok...so the show does stink. It's a very lame attempt at trying to reel in children. But um....what is this "ghetto style" you speak of? O_o anyone can throw their arms around and it doesn't have to be ghetto....whatever that means.

Happy times!! ^_^

reply

so paz and hi5 are okay but HHH isnt? Your son is missing out. THe lessoons are just as great.

If that u dont like it is fine, but dont start throwing around epithets that are wrong. What is ghetto style?

This show just scares me. Whatever happened to Lambchop?

reply

It's okay, but I agree that the kids are too happy... TOO happy. Like they drank gallons of coffee before the show. Not saying they should act bored, just tone it down a bit. The way they dance is also a little extreme, they must be tired by the end of the day!

reply

I think this show is great. It's nice to offer kids something different musically.

Help me understand. If you can't see beyond the parts of the show that you think "stink" in order to see the true lessons that are being taught on the show, then you are ignorant. Music is a great educational tool and one that young children really respond to. The children may not speak with an "everyday or normal" tone, but their attitudes are very positive and their energy is upbeat. I totally approve this show for my child to watch. Even though it's hip hop, it is a very positive way to express that genere of music... (i.e. no cursing, no degrading women, no booty shakin, no glorifying anything most folks can't afford to buy on their own). And if that is a way to encourage small children to learn and be creative, especially children that grow up in very urban or poverty stricken areas of our country, then I'm all for that.

Lemme guess, you let your child(ren) watch Teletubbies don't you? ROTFLMBO!!! No wonder...your poor babies! And I'm offended, because did you know that the man that wears the Hip Hop Harry suit is the same man that wore the Barney suit for many years? Yes a BLACK man... And everyone loves Barney! Those little kids speak in the same manner as the children on Hip Hop Harry and look how big Barney is (not was but still is)! Barney has been around since the early 90s and my 2 year old thinks that Barney is all the rage, even in 2007!!

Expand your horizons and open your eyes lady!

I personally feel that basing a kids show on a style of music that almost always has skanky women dancing sexually is a freaking sick example of how our world is falling apart. Now if you are a parent who can and will say "I know it's the same style but that song is off limits" more power to you. I personally will never watch this show bacause I think it sucks, but I hate Barney, Teletubbies and Elmo too, that's just me. My issue is parents today wont say no to their kids and those are the people who make a show like this an issue. But Again, if you are a good parent who can tell your child no when you have to, this is not directed at you and I wont petition to get it off the air. All I ask is that if your kids watch itmake sure you pay attention to what they listen to and watch.(Well, I say do it anyways) Okay, I'm done.

reply

I just feel bombarded by urban slang and attitudes and I took my aggression out on Hip Hop Harry. I'm sure it's not a bad show, I just don't want to watch it for that reason. Sorry if I offended anyone.

reply

Yeah, everybody you should introduce your children to music that glorifies ignorance, greed, violence and degradation. Hip Hop Harry's fat ass may not be representing these subjects, but he's a gateway to something far worse.

reply

lost boy, u r lost.

rappers and rap "artists" are the 1 doing all that degrading stupid sh*t they call "music": greed ( wearing FAKE jewlery in the videos & in public); using fake money in their videos, and when they do throw $, it is all $1 bills....yet they claim they are "ballers"), violence, degradation i hate and agree with u on/about.

do u know what hip hop is? not just a music, nut a lifestle: the art of grafitti, the breeakdancing, the pop locking, the clothing. That is why on HHH the kids are doing handstands, backflips, hand springs, etc.

that's a pretty limited reading on the genre. unless you're talking about corporate driven, top 40 rap music that shuts out black conscious and political artists for not being "black enough"...in which case I agree, though those aren't exactly the type of message Hip Hop Harry are trying to get across. I find it interesting that so many people are so readily able to make that leap.

reply

haha...Hip Hop Harry is the new marijuana! The "gateway" childrens television program. Love it! *dies*

reply

the music cannot be to blame, it is simply notes on a page that a musician or group plays. you must listen to the lyrics! every style of music can be drug and sex related, also, every style of music, yes, even hip hop has been used in christian music. it is a way to bring the message out in a way that target audience will listen to and relate to. hip hop harry is the same thing. the kids, like it or not, like that music, so will be willing to listen to the message, learning alphabet, senses, various careers, etc. in a way that interests them.and about the dancing - think of it as a way to get them te exercise! something many kids do not get enough of because they are sitting in front of the boob toob!

reply

You guys are hypocrites for saying that the show is annoying because it has Hip Hop on it. Tawidmerfoe clearly explained it to you. It is a way to deliver a message, and Hip Hop Harry is making kids learn about the alphabet, senses, and various careers.

Not all Hip Hop music is all about sex, drugs, and violence. As a matter of fact, Hip Hop isn't the only genre that has sex, drugs, and violence in a similar manner.

reply

COMPLETELY AGREE. Worst show ever. They should have people like my friend Andy Z (who does children's music) on TV. HE'S ACTUALLY TALENTED.
Check out his website. Maybe if enough people realize how stupid the crap on TV is, they'll get good people like him on.

Well, I will.
Veggie Tales is better anyway. :P

This show wouldn't teach kids anything.
I'd be disgraced if my future children wanted to watch it.
