Were you happy with them when they praised KANK and Krrish more than Fanaa? Actually you should look at the critiques. If they are uniform in praising the film and the acting then that is something to think about. If they are all over the place then that means opinions are divided and the film did not please everyone. Here is what has happened with Chak de. A majority of critics loved the film, and loved SRK's acting in the film, the film is rated 8.4 on IMDb, 90% of the user comments on IMDb are positive, and it is a hit. AND IT does it without being a formula film! So what is the problem here?

the thing is that it is picking up in england. i went to the cinema the other day and the cinema hall was packed. i went on tuesday. seeing that it is a quality film it is doing well. i was just checking the cinema today chak de india has the most shows and is just behind rush hour 3. buddha mar gaya has 2 shows and marigold has 5. kaafila has 1. i think its obvious that chak de india is going to be a hit overseas too!!! just give it time!!!

Why wont it be a hit overseas. if they can make stupid films like dhoom 2 and a plagiarised film like partner a hit then why cant chak de indiawhich has substance and style.
sharewell, ok.... so i have been reading the boards without saying anything.... but dont pick on dhoom2 and call it stupid...... i aint an SRK fan, yet i wud say that CDI was well made... but dragging D2 into it ans saying that was stupid aint a good idea... both movies had class.... and different styles...... each to his own....

Guru was a hit too, but that was propelled by the tax free status given to it by the government of Mulayam Singh Yadav in UP (in exchange for Bachchan Sr. taking out full page ads that there was no crime in the state!). The weekend is booked out at most places. And with the two competitors - Marigold and Last Legion - getting pathetic reviews it is the only decent game in town.

I agree it could pull an average overseas but in india the movie is on track to being a HIT or superhit becasue of awesome WOM.
1st week 20 crore and then another 20-22 crore 2nd week means the movie will become the second biggest hit of the year after Partner.
Both movies are deserving hits but i wish Chak De India had does better becasue it is totally awesome movie.
Chak de cannot compete with Partner for the stupidity factor. Many will still prefer that to any thing that is of a serious nature. And that could be true of the younger overseas audiences who want MTV montages in their films.

Much as I like Jattunit for spreading evidence of my good taste across IMDb, I have to say that he is an incoherent troll when it comes to anything relating to SRK. So let the kid be folks. He will go away in another week when the movie is declared very successful. It will do what no film has done - not a ripoff, no songs dances, only one name that is recognized, yet highly successful not because it is for the brain dead but because it is for the intelligent.
