Total, utter waste of time - a ruinination of B5

If you like watching something that makes no sense and is a part of something else that appears to never be going to be made, then waste your time with this. Seriously, the show goes nowhere by itself and you are left at the end wondering what it's all about and what it was going to lead to - which it looks like we are not going to find out. And also, the opening credit show Llondo, Vir and G'Kar - but they are not in it. On top of that, there is some bad acting by all concerned and I think they are all aware they are in the saddle of a dead horse, TBH. Bad sets - the corridor of Sheridan's advanced Quantum space Minbari ship looks like the corridor of a badly painted cheap hotel - all square plasterboard walls. It really is shame to see B5 and it's stars come down to this - and I have to say that things should go off with a bang and not a whimper. Just really bad, and really disappointing.

No, the utter waste of time and utter ruination of B5 came back in 2002 with "Babylon 5 - The Legend of the Rangers - To Live and Die in Starlight." That was crap, and I'm sorry that it had to be Andreas Katsulas' last appearance in a ~~B5-ish story.

Sure, "Babylon 5 - The Lost Tales" had problems, but almost all of them exist because B5:TLT was done on a $3 million budget, and they had to make almost everything from scratch (because Warners lost, sold or destroyed almost all 1999 and earlier B5 resources.), so 99.99% of what you see came out of that $3 million (building rental, set construction, CGI models, sequences and virtual sets, costumes, cast and crew salaries, etc.). Some of the CGI people even put in extra time, for free, because of their love for B5. The only things that JMS and crew were able to use from the B5 thru Crusade days was a starfury cockpit, a couple of costumes, and a piece of a wall that included a doorway. Thank you WB for the tiny budget and for being such a good caretaker of B5 resources! <S> ...... WB/WHV

See, if they wouldn't have had to reinvent the wheel, would have had their entire toolbox from what they'd made before, they would have had much more to spend on the new stuff for "Babylon 5 - The Lost Tales".

When I think of Warmer Brothers, I'm reminded of the "song" Conan O'Brien sang about NBC early in the his last week on The Tonight Show.

KoshN - Brimstone [Stone lights a candle for the dead.] Gina: Who's that for? Ezekiel Stone: Me.

TLotR was bad... it should have been titled, "To Die in Starlight" ... or better yet, "To die a pointless death, because that's our motto! Damn it!" and TLotR had other issues, but that was the worst.

I do like the updated CGI of Lost Tales... the first story started out fairly weak, but got interesting. I'm about half way done with the second.

I thought this was the best thing in Babylon 5 universe since Crusade pilot. Sure, it had low budget and lot of faults, but it had the best writing and stories that none of the spin offs had...
