camera man....wtf??

At the beginning of the movie when the grown up kids all first arrive at Mrs. Park's house, why does the camera keep moving in and out at the scene where the "fat girl" and the "athletic guy" are talking to Mrs. Park?? It looked like a home video with someone who doesn't know how to work a camera...made me dizzy!!

Yes!...I was wondering what was the idea with this camera work?...oddest creative decision...

It was beyond annoying. Surprising really, considering the movie as a whole was quite good for that shoddy work not to be fixed during editing.

same. it was a really bad choice on the DP's part and i have no idea why they would have chosen to shoot it that way. i've never had a physical reaction to the increasingly popular 'shaky-cam' in film, but this scene actually did make me feel a bit ill.

Oddly, it was that scene with the camera shaking and zooming in and out that made me feel sick. It was the first inclination I got during the film that something was terribly wrong with Da-rong's leg, and that possibly the teacher was connected to it.

You know, come to think of it you're most likely spot-on. It did give the viewer a physical sense of unease to match what was happening in the story but I still found it almost aggravating to watch because it was such an odd choice, stylistically. If the intent is what you're guessing, and frankly I think you're right then hey, it worked!
