Good Minus the Plot Holes

I watched this movie because I saw the box and thought, "hey, this could be good." I still think I was right (confirmation bias maybe) but I had problems with a few plot holes and wouldn't mind some discussion.

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Plot hole 1: The teacher's son.
So, the deformed kid was named Park Yong-Min. He was not fabricated by the serial killer as his story came before the victims' bodies showed up. Additionally, the townspeople told the cops the teacher raised a deformed kid in her basement. Lastly, the flashback where Jong-Won was being chastised for giving the kid back his bunny mask.

My assumption:
He may have been moved or jailed (juvenile delinquency) because he was in the same room as his father when his father committed suicide. Though he did not kill his father, he did nothing to save his father so he may have required some rehabilitation and may have been moved.

The only thing that was clear (as mud) was that he was not present when the killings happened.

Plot hole 2: The [molested] kid.
So it is made clear at the end of the movie that each child was a manifestation of each of Jung-Won's childhood experience. What about Myong-Ho? It didn't sound like he was a success like his peers. For argument's sake, let's assume he was though. What about the whole molesting thing? From the sounds and looks of it, the teacher didn't treat Jung-Won like that. So, what was his fault and/or what was the childhood experience that Jung-Won manifested unto Myong-Ho?

My assumption:
I do not know what to assume. Myong-Ho was portrayed as a druggie by Jong-Won... So? Druggie in real-life perhaps? Was Jung-Won a druggie? Maybe the producers thought, "Meh, they'll all be more focused on Jung-Won and the deformed kid to try and care about Myong-Ho."

Plot hole 3: The killings
So, we understand that all persons were poisoned. We further understand that they were all found in the basement completely mutilated and more. But, if they were all poisoned at a dinner, then why and how did they all end up in the basement? Furthermore, if Jong-Won was a lady, how did she lift Dai-Bong up to hang him up? There was the businessman and his wife, the baseball player, the delinquent, the super model, the shy-guy and the teacher. 7 total people. Only five were found in the basement. Where was the sixth body and where did they find the teacher? And about the teacher, she ate the same food as everybody so why wasn't she poisoned?

My assumption:
Jung-Won dragged all of the people to the basement and mutilated their already-dead corpses. She probably didn't clean the table or the blood trail of the dead bodies but the cops were still busy excavating the basement and have yet to notice the dining table. After she drug the corpses there and tied them up to prevent them from falling out, she hung Dar-Bong and beat him to a pulp. Jung-Won was already tired and having drug Myong-Ho to the basement last, Jung-Won passed out from exhaustion.

The teacher, due to her sickness, had a stricter diet and could not eat the same foods as everybody else. Because she was screaming out of hysteria, she too passed out. But where did they find her?

Still does not explain the super model, Soon-Hee. Still, if the cops haven't found the table yet, they probably didn't find the super model's body either. Still, five people ate the food at the table, four bodies accounted for, one completely vanished.

Plot hole 4: The polices' involvement.
How were the cops notified about the killings in the first place? If everybody passed out or were in the basement or were poisoned and then killed, why and how would the police know to go to this place? It did not appear as though anybody lived near the teacher so what gives?

My assumption:
They could've been discovered days after the whole incident but the bodies weren't decomposing yet either. Not sure.

...

Oh well.
I guess at the end of the day, it's just a movie.

I just saw this movie. I'll try my best to answer your questions.

Plot hole 1: The teacher's son.

I assumed he had died, but you're right, the movie didn't make this clear at all. I think all we can take away from this is that he was not viewed as important enough by his mother, the townspeople, or the cops for any of them to care about his fate. This only reveals how awful and/or apathetic those people were; it reveals nothing about him.
Plot hole 2: The [molested] kid.

I figured this was simply because she needed to give him a reason to hate Mrs. Park, and since she had run out of her own experiences, she invented the most awful thing she could for him.
Plot hole 3: The killings

The hot girl's body was thrown off the cliff, I assume, since that's the way Jung-won told the story. Shy-guy did not exist: he was supposed to be Jung-won, but of course "Mi-ja" was.

I can only assume what you did, that because Mrs. Park was sick, she didn't eat the same food as everyone else.

As for hanging that one guy, I don't know. Maybe she rigged up a pulley system of some sort.
Plot hole 4: The polices' involvement.

Ha, I think for this one, we probably have to go with what you said at the end of your post:
I guess at the end of the day, it's just a movie.

My take on your questions:
1. The deformed son - I agree that he really existed, because of the mentions of him from other people (the doctor). I think your explanation is as good as any. He was likely institutionalized, or perhaps even dead by the time this movie takes place. It is kind of annoying that he wasn't mentioned again, but I'm not sure I'd call it a plot hole since he turned out to be insignificant to the actual story.

2. The molested student - well, we all know that the students we saw in the movie were all made up versions by Jung-Won. I assumed that Myong-Ho was the favorite student (as mentioned at the dinner scene) and that Jung-Won resented him for being so loved by the teacher while she was constantly ridiculed. I think her twisted mind turned that favoritism into an inappropriate love affair. This scenario gives her more reason to hate the teacher, be jealous of the classmate, and create a "loser story" for him.
But I do agree that this was a legit plot hole because he was the only student who wasn't brought up again when we were seeing the flashbacks of the reality with Jung-Won being the student who actually possessed all those other student's traits.

3. The killings - There was no missing body, as the Shy Guy never existed (as explained by the poster above me). There are some other really good explanations about that on this discussion board, but basically think "The Usual Suspects" - Keyser Söze/Verbal.
I don't think the fact that a smaller woman could some how move a larger dead body is a plot hole. Ropes, chairs, etc can go a long way.

4. The police involvement - I also don't see this as a plot hole. Remember when the movie starts the cops are already there checking out the crime scene with the dead bodies, BUT... the 2 living witnesses are gone, already at the hospital. This tells me that the cops got there as a rescue, to get the survivors, and proceeded to check out the scene and piece together what happened. Jung-Won had no real injuries except some bruises and small cuts. I assumed she went for help after escaping the scene (or that's how she portrayed it).

We need to keep in mind too that we watched a Korean movie with English subtitles. I wouldn't be surprised in some minor (yet important) details got lost in translation! This is the type of movie where just a few words could make a big difference!

Jung-Won was indeed molested by the teacher. You don't even need subtitles to understand this part, I don't see how could someone miss that! You need to rewatch the last scene.
