It's a really great premise for a movie and actually it would make a lovely play. The dialogue is written in a way that is very real and natural.

The real star of the film is Alessandro Calza who played one of the central roles, Andrea. Very talented guy. OK I'm crushing a bit, because he is stunningly handsome and his character is a romantic which makes me transfer those traits onto him, but honestly, his acting was really good in the film. Unfortunately his costars could not measure up.

The reason i rate this a 5 was due to the HORRIBLE acting by literally everyone except Calza. I judge good acting by how natural the actors move and speak, but the cast was literally almost table reading. The conversations did not feel natural at all, it seemed obvious that they were waiting to say their lines instead making it believable. The worst offender, is sadly the star, who played Jeff. From the directing and the dialogue i could understand what type of character he is and how he should be portrayed, but the actor was not a good fit. His dry delivery made the movie and his character more bleak than it should have been.

The movie moves rather slow in certain spots. There are a lot of establishing shots that last way longer than they need to. This is something i noticed a lot in indie films.

I rather enjoyed the low-key aspect of the movie. There was a lengthy kiss scene that conveyed a lot of emotions. I was happy to see the movie did not do an obvious gimmick by turning it into a sex scene. For a gay themed movie to exclude sex; I mean it's pretty rare and actually rather refreshing. Its focus was on relationships and how we form them and it never wavered.

Indie films don't have nice little endings that show everyone lives happily ever after. My friend was annoyed because they don't end the movie with some sort of certainty for Jeff and Andrea's future. If you are use to this then it wont bother you, if you don't a lot of independent films then it may seem like "wtf, what's gonna happen?"

There are a lot of gay movies that are not worth watching, but this one is. It's not great, but it's done fairly well and has integrity.
