Is there a hint of Spanish Apartment in this movie?

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I thought Spanish Apartment & the sequel were really good.

Without giving too much away, did you feel that there was a taste of Spanish Apartment and the likes by this director in his latest work?

Cheers!!

reply

Yes. Though, I would say the filmmaker matured with 'Paris'.
Quite some things taste familiar; the overal zest for life. Quirky believable characters -much less quirky though. Also, there's no benevolence in this film either, which I quite like. To watch Romain Duris' character behave so wise and beautifully is also very nice, because in L'Auberge Espangol (which I loved) I thought he played a rather dull guy.

Merci, Victor van Doorn. I can't wait to catch this movie. The plot alone sounds interesting.

I loved 'L'Auberge Espanol'!

Remind me of the sequel's name, please. I might well have seen that one, too.

You have to watch the sequel!! OK, they all became more mature, but there wasn't much focus on the rest of the flatmates though. Still it's nicer, I liked both.

OK, Jerry, but ... WHAT is the sequel's name, please? I am not kidding when i say that I have forgotten the name of it. I may have seen it, amongst the HUNDREDS of films I go to each year, or I might not have. The name will jog my mind .... Thank you.

I loved "Paris" by the way. So well acted! France's best all in one film!

Russian Dolls

Huh ... interesting ... I don't recall ever seeing that film come out.

Can't wait to see "Yoo-hoo, Mrs. Goldberg", "Capitalism, a love story", and "The Septmeber Issue" this weekend! Woot-woot ... speaking of films, (that I HAVE heard of)

DogtownGirl, you probably know this already as this thread is many years old, but there's a third movie now after Spanish Apartment and Russian Dolls. It's called Chinese Puzzle, and it's my favorite of the three movies.
