I actually found an interview with the director that gives a hint:
http://www.altfg.com/blog/directors/water-lilies-celine-sciamma-interview/
In it, she says "I wanted the girls to be the age of the parts [they would be playing]." So around the time they were filming the movie, the three girls would have been about fifteen, which would make them seventeen-ish about now, I'm guessing?
"They weren't all 15 when the film was shot. Adele was at least 17/18."
What you're really saying is: "she looks this age to me so she MUST be this age?"
"that's one extremely young looking 17/18 year old o.o"
perhaps. Isn't the fact that teenagers mature at different ages one the struggles of adolescence and a large part of what this film is about?
invisibleflan - Thank you for that link! I can't help but notice a strong resemblance between Céline Sciamma and the character of Marie, I think I will assume that this film is somewhat autobiographical.
